[The role of the FeverFriend program in the management of fever in childhood].
Introduction: In early 2023, we first reported in the Hungarian Medical Journal on the aim, design and initial results of the FeverFriend program. Objective, method: Following the initial phase of the FeverFriend program, the adaptive, real-world, prospective, cohort study was continued. Hypotheses were tested by processing the data obtained. Results: Our hypotheses were confirmed by the above analyses, i.e., the application measures the population affected by childhood febrile illness in a stable manner over time in terms of age, fever height and duration. The results of the triage of the app show stability independent of the frequency of app use, and the association between the app’s educational effort and caregiver-care receiver triage is positively correlated. Conclusion: The time variation between the educational goal of the app and the reason for medication use shows a positive association: caregivers give less medication due to concerns in the second study period.
