Synthesis of Triazole-Allied Schiff Base and Its Applications as a Therapeutic Agent for Cervical Cancer and as a Plant Growth Regulator for Maize Seeds
This article reports the synthesis and applications of triazole-allied Schiff base (TASB), which is significant for both agricultural and biological systems. The synthesized compound was thoroughly characterized through 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectrometry techniques. TASB (7) shows significant results as a plant growth regulator (PGR) for maize seeds. Different concentrations of TASB were tested against the seed, but 10 mg/L showed the best results compared to other concentrations and the control group. The root–shoot length and weight were compared with respect to control group. Chlorophyll, protein, total phenolic content, and carotenoid and flavonoid parameters were also evaluated. TASB was also tested against HeLa cells, which showed 73.48% inhibition of cell viability. In silico study was used to evaluate the binding modes of TASB on HPV and cytokinin oxidase to check its potency as an anticancer and as a PGR.
