Pseudoaneurysm after Distal Chevron Osteotomy Bunionectomy.
Iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms are a rare complication after foot and ankle surgery. A pseudoaneurysm is described as a defect in an arterial wall contained in the surrounding soft tissue. We present a 72-year-old woman who underwent a distal chevron osteotomy bunionectomy complicated by a postoperative pseudoaneurysm to the plantar lateral hallucis artery. This case represents a rare complication to a common procedure and bunionectomy technique.
