The inhibition efficiency of calcium carbonate deposits is determined by titrimetric method. Homopolymer of acrylic acid shows the best efficiency. The inhibitory ability of PAA of certain molecular weight (MW) is studied. The highest inhibition efficiency of calcium carbonate deposits is observed for PAA with M<sub>w</sub> around 2000. The influence of the nature of links of the chain growth regulator on the inhibitory ability of PAA is also established.
