This review article summarizes the latter to establish context for a review of the former: decision making in sports domains. Utility-based, heuristic, computational, naturalistic, and ecological approaches are included and the benefits of using sports as a real-world testbed for these approaches is illustrated through examples among players, coaches, referees, and fans.
