Familial Predisposition to Hepatobiliary Cancers: Implications for Diagnosis and Management of Pyloric Gland Adenoma of the Gallbladder Exceeding 1 cm.
Pyloric adenoma of the gallbladder is an extremely rare condition marked by the presence of pyloric gland-like structures within the gallbladder mucosa. Due to its rarity, it presents diagnostic challenges, often resembling other gallbladder lesions histologically. This report reviews the pathological features, diagnostic considerations, differential diagnosis, and clinical management strategies. It also explores potential etiological factors, molecular characteristics, and radiological findings associated with pyloric adenoma. Accurate histopathological examination is crucial for diagnosis. Surgical resection is the preferred treatment, with favorable outcomes reported. Further research is necessary to understand the mechanisms behind this rare biliary tumor to improve patient care.
