For staged columns, a method for calculating continuous distillation lines to replace their discrete counterparts was proposed. For ternary mixtures, the equations describing the pitchfork distillation boundary were transformed to simplify the numerical solutions. Finally, a simple algorithm was developed and implemented to construct feasible separation regions for staged and packed columns. Feasible Separation Regions for the Conventional Distillation of Ternary Systems: An Implemented Algorithm
