The value of ultrasonic attenuation parameters and serum indicators on MASLD patients with liver fat degenerationality
Objective
To explore the diagnostic value of controlled attenuation parameters combined with serum biochemical indicators for metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
Methods
A total of 145 patients with MASLD who visited our hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were included. 55 healthy subjects were used as controls. The ROC curve was drawn with the CT liver/spleen ratio as the diagnostic standard, and the area under the curve was calculated to evaluate the diagnostic value of fat attenuation parameters for MASLD.
Results
The best cut-off value of the fat attenuation parameter for diagnosing fatty liver was 262.5 dB/m (AUROC = 0.823, sensitivity = 0.820, specificity = 0.701, P < 0.05). The best cut-off values of fat attenuation parameters for diagnosing mild, moderate, and severe fatty liver were 225.5 dB/m, 267.5 dB/m, and 289.5 dB/m, respectively, with AUROC of 0.440, 0.665, and 0.808, all P < 0.05. The combination of fat attenuation parameter with alanine aminotransferase or triglyceride can enhance the diagnostic value of MASLD, and the diagnostic efficacy of fat attenuation parameter combined with ALT was substantially higher, the AUROC was 0.776, 0.924, and 0.997, all P < 0.05.
Conclusion
Ultrasound controlled attenuation parameters combined with ALT and TG have near-perfect diagnostic accuracy. for MASLD.
