Nowadays, AI has become a new approach to promoting such behavioral intention. This research examined how AI can enhance this effect, focusing on the role of local accents in AI communication. Using groundedness theory, four studies (and a supplemental study) investigated how AI accents influence tourists’ pro-environmental behavioral intentions, with groundedness acting as a mediator. Market segmentation indicated that these effects were significant only among tourists from large cities in China.
