Singapore’s refreshed social compact and its implications for social work practice in Singapore
The nature of social work requires the profession to be adaptive and responsive to changes in the political, economic and social environment where the practice occurs. The social work profession in Singapore has developed in tandem with the nation’s relatively young history of nation building. This article uses the recently announced new social compact of Singapore as a context to present an update of the political and social-demographic situation in Singapore.
