Development of the Italian Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (I-MID): A Pilot Study
The aim of the present pilot study was to verify the applicability of the Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (MID) to the Italian culture. An Italian translation of the MID (I-MID) was developed and evaluated for reliability and validity when administered to an Italian sample consisting of clinical and nonclinical individuals. The I-MID showed strong internal consistency, structural, convergent, and construct validity. The MID's subjective/phenomenological model of dissociation appears to be applicable in the Italian context. The study's limitations are addressed.
