The new management logic of digital megaprojects: An agenda for information systems research

Digital megaprojects play an increasingly strategic role in our modern economies as nations seek to leverage information systems to address complex societal challenges, build global competitiveness and drive economic growth. This viewpoint article offers a comprehensive conceptual understanding of the nature and distinctive characteristics of digital megaprojects. It introduces a conceptual framework that distinguishes between various management approaches for different types of projects, emphasising the novel logic necessary for effectively managing digital megaprojects. Lastly, the article proposes a research agenda highlighting the importance of future studies in this field.
