Engineering a Mi3Chemout system for controlled recruitment and release of proteins of interest†
Protein cages are ideal scaffolds for presenting proteins of interest (POIs), but controlled POI release remains challenging. We engineered the Mi3 protein cage with chemically inducible dimerization domains and a photocleavable protein, enabling controlled recruitment and release of POIs both in vitro and in E. coli cells.
