The mode transducer consists of two parts: a mode converter and an irregular planar power combiner. The mode converter, based on circular waveguide TE01 mode, adopts three metal posts with stepped transition and eight-way over-mode waveguides with radiating distribution. The irregular planar power combiner, based on E-plane T-junction, has eight ports uniformly distributed along the circumference. Sample processing was carried out on the mode transducer and a back-to-back testing was conducted. The minimum return loss of the input port 12 dB, the maximum loss 0.45 dB, and the lowest transfer efficiency 90.1% are realized within 25 GHz to 43 GHz with a relative operating bandwidth of 52.9%.
