Shot-noise power from a topological superconductor with chiral symmetry
We study the electronic transport through a junction of normal metal/topological superconductors. In the Random Matrix Theory (RMT) framework, the symmetric class BDI describes the electronic transport through the junction, and it is associated with a topological number QZ. Using RMT, we describe the universal electronic properties of the junction between a normal metal and a topological superconductor. Specifically, we calculate the average conductance, shot noise power, and probability distributions. In particular, we show that the ratio between shot-noise power and conductance quantum interference corrections (“Fano factor”) changes the signal because of the effect of the topological quantum number Q. Numerical calculations further validate our analytical results.

Annals of Physics presents original work in all areas of basic theoretic physics research. Ideas are developed and fully explored, and thorough treatment is given to first principles and ultimate applications. Annals of Physics emphasizes clarity and intelligibility in the articles it publishes, thus making them as accessible as possible. Readers familiar with recent developments in the field are provided with sufficient detail and background to follow the arguments and understand their significance. The Editors of the journal cover all fields of theoretical physics. Articles published in the journal are typically longer than 20 pages.
