Specifically, this study aims to deepen our understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms underlying periodontitis in this category of patients and the reciprocal aggravating influence of these pathologies on each other.</p><p><strong>Patients and methods: </strong>Materials and Methods: bibliometric and analytical methods applied to data from international scientific sources investigating the role of periodontal diseases in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Conclusions: The growing body of evidence indicates a significant comorbidity between periodontal diseases and cardiovascular diseases.
