Supply chain digitization and energy resilience: Evidence from China
Strong energy resilience is crucial for high-quality development. In the era of the digital economy, it is essential to enhance energy resilience through supply chain digitization. Using data from Chinese A-share listed enterprises in the energy system, this study explores the relationship between supply chain digitization and energy resilience. It is concluded that supply chain digitization significantly improves energy resilience, and this effect occurs through channels of improving the efficiency, stability, and quality of the supply-demand relationship. Furthermore, the roles of supply chain digitization in energy resilience are strengthened in enterprises with high productivity and ESG rating, industries with strong employment absorption capacity, and regions with advanced manufacturing clusters, but are weakened in industries with strong monopoly power. Based on these findings, this study implicates accelerating the digitization process of the supply chain, improving enterprises' production efficiency and emphasizing ESG, and creating more advanced manufacturing cluster regions.
