Synthesis and Properties of Hydrogenated Metathesis Oligonorbornene

Metathesis oligomerization of norbornene in the presence of the first-generation Grubbs catalyst and ethylene used as a chain transfer agent yielded an oligomeric product, which was then hydrogenated over a palladium catalyst.
