This initiative aimed to create a preclinical preparatory program for pediatric nurse practitioner students to boost clinical confidence and document competency achievement.</p><p><strong>Method: </strong>Using a backward design, coursework, and simulations were developed for students to master preclinical competencies. At semester's end, students underwent a summative assessment simulating pediatric primary care scenarios aimed at documenting competency mastery.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Students reported increased confidence and preparedness for clinical settings.</p><p><strong>Discussion: </strong>This qualty improvement preparatory program sets students up for success in their first clinical rotation.
