It has been found that the high rates of crystallization are necessary in order to obtain a homogeneous, fine-grained cast structure. A procedure for determining the phase composition of shape-memory alloys based on the Fe–Mn–Si system was developed. It was shown that extended high-temperature homogenizing annealing is essential for the production of a defect-free workpiece using pressure metal treatment methods.
