The purpose of this study was to understand differences in adherence to type 2 diabetes treatment among individuals who report anxiety, anger, and depression.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Questionnaires were administered to 111 individuals with type 2 diabetes in Oxcutzcab, Yucatan, Mexico. Participants completed the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory-2, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the Scale of Adherence to Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Treatment.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Independent-samples <i>t</i>-test was used to determine mean differences in mental health variables for adherence to treatment variables.
