The above article, published online on 16 May 2024 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), has been retracted by agreement between the authors; the journal Editor-in-Chief, Osamu Ukimura; The Japanese Urological Association; and John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd. The retraction has been agreed upon following an investigation into concerns raised by a third party, which revealed inconsistencies in the underlying data of the study, specifically regarding the number of patients who underwent orchiectomy or epididymectomy. The authors acknowledged the data errors and asked to retract their article as they found that the mistakes significantly affect the results and the conclusions of the paper. The authors apologize for the oversight.
