口蘑属植物具有很高的经济和生态价值。世界范围内对口蘑病的研究较多,但主要集中在北美和欧洲。中国对口蘑病的了解有限。通过形态学和分子系统发育分析,确定了山西口蘑属的21种。这些种分布于8个科,分别是:鳞草科、真草科、刺花科、松茸科、松茸科、刚玉科、地生科和口蘑科。其中,有四个物种被描述为科学上的新物种:黄毒霉霉、烟霉霉霉、parafulvum霉霉和粘毒霉霉。
