Since 1990, several serious issues have been raised regarding conservation, fisheries, and sustainable aquaculture. In the search for solutions for sustainable Totoaba aquaculture in Mexico, research from natural and social science disciplines has converged to give explanations and proposals. In light of the scientific findings, publications have brought insights into biology, immunology, ecology, nutrition, reproduction, genetics, policies, and social aspects.
