In this review, we corroborate with the goals of proposing surrogate biomarkers that consent to the measurement of the permeability of intestines more effortlessly. The expression of intestinal fatty acid binding protein (I-FABP) is exclusive in the intestine and has beenreported to release extracellularly upon damage caused to tissues.
