This retrospective study aims to assess the efficacy of open-ended urethral catheters with 2 side holes in mitigating catheter obstruction in pediatric patients following hypospadias repair.</p><p><strong>Materials and methods: </strong>The clinical data of pediatric patients who underwent hypospadias repair surgery from January 2021 to October 2023 were retrospectively collected. The patients were divided into 2 groups. Those who used standard Foley catheters were referred to as Group A, while those who used modified open-ended catheters were referred to as Group B. The primary outcome was the incidence of catheter obstruction within 7 days postoperatively.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 297 patients were included in this study, with 142 patients in Group A and 155 patients in Group B. In Group A, there were 12 cases of catheter obstruction, with 10 cases resolved through irrigation and 2 cases requiring additional catheters insertion by suprapubic bladder punctures. In Group B, only 4 cases experienced catheter obstruction, which were effectively and easily resolved through maneuver irrigation. The incidence of catheter obstruction in Group B was statistically significantly lower than that in Group A (2.6% vs. 8.5%, <i>p</i> < 0.05).</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>In pediatric hypospadias patients who underwent surgical repair, the use of open-ended urethral catheters with 2 side holes significantly diminishes the incidence of postoperative catheter obstruction. 背景:尿道下裂患儿术后早期尿道导管梗阻是一个值得注意的问题。本回顾性研究旨在评估双侧开孔导尿管在减轻小儿尿道下裂修补术后导尿管梗阻的疗效。材料与方法:回顾性收集2021年1月至2023年10月行尿道下裂修复术患儿的临床资料。患者分为两组。采用标准Foley导尿管者称为A组,采用改良开放式导尿管者称为b组。主要观察指标为术后7天内导尿管梗阻发生率。结果:本研究共纳入297例患者,其中A组142例,b组155例。A组有12例导管梗阻,10例经冲洗解决,2例需经耻骨上膀胱穿刺追加置管。B组仅4例出现导管梗阻,均通过手法冲洗有效且容易解决。B组的导尿管梗阻发生率明显低于A组(2.6% vs. 8.5%)。p结论:小儿尿道下裂行手术修补术的患者,使用2侧孔开放式导尿管可显著降低术后导尿管梗阻发生率。这个简单的技巧值得推广。
