This metal‐ and oxidant‐free protocol is suitable for aromatic, heteroaromatic and aliphatic reagents to afford the corresponding sulfonylated products in moderate to high yields under mild conditions. An Electrochemical Method for the Direct Sulfonylation of N‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐sulfonamides with Sulfonyl Hydrazides
A facile electrochemical strategy for the synthesis of sulfonylphenol derivatives from N‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐sulfonamides with sulfonyl hydrazides has been successfully developed. This metal‐ and oxidant‐free protocol is suitable for aromatic, heteroaromatic and aliphatic reagents to afford the corresponding sulfonylated products in moderate to high yields under mild conditions. A gram‐scale experiment and an in vitro antibacterial assay were conducted to demonstrate the potential utility of this approach.
