Maxillofacial trunk identified by three-dimensional computed tomography angiography.

The branches of the external carotid artery can show variation, and common trunks are occasionally found. Because the common trunks such as the thyrolingual, linguofacial, and thyrolinguofacial trunks are formed from two or all of the superior thyroid artery, lingual artery, and facial arteries, maxillofacial trunks are extremely rare.
