Antibiotic therapy reduced inflammatory manifestations and toxic pressure on the lymph system and potentiated the reactive response of the mesenteric lymph nodes: the size of lymphoid nodes and the paracortical T-dependent zone increased against the background of shrinkage of the sinus system, which attested to activation of the lymphopoietic function and immune response of lymph nodes in peritonitis.
