The current strategy delivers a range of indolo[1,2-<i>f</i>]phenanthridine derivatives by utilizing readily available 1-(2-iodophenyl)-1<i>H</i>-indole and commercially available <i>o</i>-bromobenzoic acids as the starting materials.
