The percentage of time >13.9 mmol/L (>250 mg/dL) improved more in the LC diet than in the MED diet group: -10% vs. -2% (p = 0.005). The percentage of time <3.0 mmol/L (<54 mg/dL) was comparable. The delta HbA1c improved in both groups: -0.7% vs. -0.1% (p = 0.02). Low-carbohydrate diet proved effective and safe for youths with type 1 diabetes: A randomised trial.
