Numerous global outbreaks of listeriosis have been linked to various fish products, underscoring the importance of studying <i>L. monocytogenes</i>. Different strains exhibit varying disease-causing abilities, making it crucial to understand and monitor the organism's virulence and resistance aspects for food safety.
