The prevalence between 30 and 70 years of age is 10% and increases with age. It is classified according to the origin, as primary hypergonadotropic HG, secondary hypothalamic-pituitary hypogonadotropic HG and HG due to peripheral resistance to the androgenic effect. The diagnosis requires clinical suspicion and hormonal determinations that confirm it.
