Atraumatic or spontaneous splenic rupture is much rarer and less frequently reported. We present a case of an 84-year-old male patient initially hospitalized for pneumonia, who developed sudden abdominal pain and hemodynamic instability. Further investigations revealed a spontaneous splenic rupture.
