Carcinoma metaplásico de la mama: a propósito de un caso
Breast metaplasic carcinoma is a rare entity. The nature of the disease and its form of presentation can cause problems in diagnosis and treatment. Even more so if the patient has comorbidities and makes it difficult to approach and manage it later. The outcome of this marriage turned out to be favorable thanks to the timely intervention. The following case is presented due to the infrequency of diagnosis and management of breast metaplasic carcinoma, the metaplasic carcinoma contains a mixed epithelial and sarcomatous tissue based on histomorphological characteristics and immunohistochemical profile. Radical surgery brings benefits with less risk of recurrence It is essential to obtain an accurate diagnosis of breast metaplasic carcinoma in order to perform the appropriate treatment. Interdisciplinary management of these patients involving the surgical oncologist, pathologist, radiation oncologist, and clinical oncologist is strongly recommended.
