Different types of transition metal catalysts, such as Pd(0), Pd(<span>ii</span>), Rh(<span>i</span>), Ir(<span>i</span>), Ni(<span>ii</span>), Cu(<span>i</span>), Cu(<span>ii</span>), and Co(<span>ii</span>), can efficiently catalyze coupling reactions of 2-formylarylboronic acids with other organic reactants.
