Value orientations of the English-language sanctions discourse through the prism of new language units
Economic sanctions have a significant impact on the global economy and politics, which is inevitably reflected in language, especially in specialized fields such as business discourse. Based on the material of articles in online dictionaries and texts from media sources, through linguo-axiological analysis, the authors identify what values and meanings are embedded in neologisms that appeared as a result of sanctions processes in the global economy, and how these words reflect the attitude of society to economic and political changes in the world. The purpose of the study is to identify and interpret value orientations in neologisms that determine public perception and reactions to sanctions in order to form a general idea of the value system of modern English–language sanctions discourse. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that the main ways of forming neologisms of the English-language sanctions discourse were identified and the connection between the internal structure of units and their connotation was revealed. As a result, it was found that in addition to the predominant number of anti-values, the axiosphere of sanctions discourse is sufficiently represented by neo-nominations reflecting the values of modern business under sanctions pressure, which indicates the active development of adaptation strategies and innovations that help business and society to comprehend and overcome the challenges that have arisen.
