It operates through a registration portal, SeqCode Registry, where metadata is linked to names and nomenclatural types. This code provides a framework for reproducible nomenclature for all prokaryotes, either culturable or not and facilitates communication across all microbiological disciplines. Additionally, the SeqCode includes provisions for updating and revising names as new data becomes available.
