Congenital Hypothyroidism is a major concern now a days. Congenital Hypothyroidism is broadly classified into Primary hypothyroidism, secondary hypothyroidism, peripheral hypothyroidism, syndromic hypothyroidism and transient congenital hypothyroidism. Factors affecting congenital hypothyroidism include thyroid dyshormonogenesis, thyroid dysgenesis, resistance to Thyroid Hormone binding, defects in T3 and T4 release or genetic factors.
