Due to a wide range of anthropogenic activities, the populations of salamanders are highly threatened. The previous published data indicate that salamanders have adapted various plastic responses to acclimatize to the changing environment. These plastic responses help them to buffer the adverse effects of changing environments and also allow them to adapt to new habitats.
