Physical Patterns and their Relationship to Sport Injuries in Gymnastics Course among Male Students in the Department of Physical Education at Al al-Bayt University
The current study aimed to reveal the relationship between physical pattern and sports injuries among male students who completed the gymnastics course at Al al-Bayt University. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a tool consisting of three sections was developed: the first is the basic information section, the second is to determine the physical type, and the third includes (7) items related to sports injuries in the gymnastics game. The validity and reliability of the study tool were verified, and the study sample included (28) students who had completed the gymnastics course. The results showed that the prevailing physical type is thin, and the incidence of injuries in the gymnastics course amounted to (1.54) injuries for each student, and the injury rates were as follows: muscles, humerus, bruises. Also, the injury was of moderate severity, and the injury was one time and the injuries associated with the parallel device and insufficient warm-up were the most frequent, and there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) between the sports injuries of the students of the Department of Physical Education due to the physical style and the academic year. The researchers recommended the necessity of adequate warm-up before training, paying attention to the students’ physical fitness, and taking preventive measures when using the parallel bar and floor movement mat during training.
