STYLISTIC IMPLICATIONS OF USING FOREIGN WORDS IN STORY “THE LOST DOVE” BY NAR-DOS
This article presents a linguistic study of foreign words used in Nar-Dos’s story “The Killed Dove”, using relevant examples. Foreign words that were transferred from Russian and other languages to Armenian and the reasons for their use were mentioned. Foreign language quotes, words that have only a stylistic connotation, as well as words that do not have Armenian equivalents in the new period of the history of the Armenian language were presented. The study also talks about the significant similarity of foreign languages.
Considering the difference between foreign words and borrowings in the Armenian language to be a priority problem, we also noted the boundaries of words of this order, since at present, in the course of the development of the literary language, there is some confusion in resolving the issue of distinguishing between foreign and borrowed words.
In the story, some truly Armenian and foreign words are used in parallel (խելացի – ինտելիգենտ, սովորական - պրոզայիկ, etc.), due to the tendency of the stylistic coloring of the author's speech.
There are also many cases when the corresponding phraseological units are used to give the speech a satirical tone and make fun of one of the characters. similar shades of speech are clearly expressed in the story under discussion (prosecutor, amateur, intellectual, etc.).
We also highlighted frequently used foreign words in the mentioned story by Nar-Dos and thereby came to the conclusion that the author’s language is not free from unnecessary use of such words and word forms.
