А stuffy person (buzzkill): Features of communicative behavior
The aim of the study is to identify the characteristic features and signs of the communicative behavior of a “stuffy” person. The article, based on an analysis of texts posted on social networks and Internet forums, presents a generalized “portrait” of a stuffy communicative personality. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time it describes the typified communicative personality “stuffy person” in Russian linguoculture. As a result, it was found that a stuffy person belongs to the number of potentially destructive communicative personalities, whose communicative behavior is due to such characteristic features as an increased level of critical attitude towards others, increased attention and unfounded nagging about trifles, and a lack of a sense of humor. It was found that stuffy communicative behavior is characterized, on the one hand, by excessive communicative activity, realized in unsolicited comments, lengthy discussions, and long explanations of the obvious, and on the other hand, by a low degree of informativeness, manifested in aimless, empty conversations. Stuffy communication contradicts the principles of positive communication, oriented TOWARDS the interlocutor, causes discomfort and stimulates a negative assessment from others.
