The meta-analyses revealed that SLE patients had a significantly lower retinal vessel density in the superficial and deep capillary plexus layers, choriocapillaris flow area, and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) circularity index compared to healthy controls, but that there were no significant differences in the FAZ area and perimeter.
