The largest number of patients with pulmonary embolism occurred in the periods from July to September 2020 and March to May 2021. No significant difference was found between mortality and the two peaks of the pandemic (p = 0.9, Fisher's exact test).</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Pulmonary embolism is associated a higher mortality rate among patients with COVID-19.
