Research agenda of employees’ voluntary learning behavior: A review
Employees' voluntary learning behavior is considered a key factor in organizational excellence and competitiveness. The current review paper synthesizes evidence on the determinants of employees' voluntary learning behavior. A search from 1995 to 2023 of the Web of Science, Scopus, EBSCOhost, ProQuest, and Standards databases yielded seven publications for review. After reviewing these, the conclusions indicate that the most significant factors affecting employees' voluntary learning behavior include organizational justice, subjective norms, self-efficacy, need for achievement, organizational identification, leader-member exchange, abusive supervisors, job levels, and learning tools. However, significant limitations can arise from the theoretical and methodological constraints. Addressing these limitations requires further research, employing qualitative and mixed-method inquiries using the case study technique to explore the mechanisms underlying the acknowledged determinants of employees' voluntary learning behavior.
