Its separation from natural or synthetic D<sub>2</sub>O–H<sub>2</sub>O binary solutions is highly energy intensive. Therefore for development of chemical and physiochemical processes for its separation, physical properties of binary solutions of D<sub>2</sub>O and H<sub>2</sub>O are important.
