One of the factors that influences solving ability is cognitive style. The aim of this research is to describe the problem solving abilities of students with FD and FI cognitive styles. This research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The subject of this research was class VIII B of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Kebomas which consisted of 2 students from each category. The data collection methods used were the GEFT test, problem solving ability test, and interviews and were analyzed using the Milles and Hubberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The technique for testing the validity of the data uses time triangulation. 摘要
