Prospects for Strengthening Economic Relations Between Cities and Rural Areas (According to the Results of the Survey of Agricultural Producers)

An urgent scientific and practical task is to develop ties and strengthen cooperation between cities and rural areas. Agricultural producers are one of the key participants in such cooperation in the economic sphere. In this regard, it is advisable to take their opinion into account when determining prospects, developing measures and tools for the development of rural-urban relations. The article is devoted to the substantiation of promising directions for the development of economic relations between cities and rural territories based on the results of a survey of heads of agricultural organizations and farms of the Vologda Region. It is established that the most relevant and promising, according to agricultural producers, areas of development of rural-urban relations, cooperation are agriculture and agriculture in general, as well as the field of education. It has been revealed that the main links between agricultural organizations and firms, organizations, institutions located in cities are: conducting laboratory research in urban institutions; training and advanced training of employees of agricultural organizations in educational institutions of cities; marketing of agricultural products to processing enterprises, shops, retail chains of cities and buying from urban enterprises of raw materials, materials, equipment needed in agricultural production; implementation of joint investment projects. The directions of strengthening and development of rural-urban relations in the mentioned directions are proposed.
