Cultural Values and Utilization Plan of JeongsoamHwajeonNori

This thesis was written to review the origin and transmission of JeongsoamHwajeonNori, which had been practiced in the village of Jeonguihyeon during the Joseon Dynasty, and to reexamine the cultural value inherent in it. In addition, This is to revive JeongsoamHwajeonnori, which only remains in form, to further enhance its image as the state-designated folk village and to use it as a source of tourism income for the village. In Jeonguihyeon during the Joseon Dynasty, it is said that on March 3, People gathered around Jeongsoam and enjoyed making food with azaleas. This is confirmed by a number of literature materials, including “Jeongsoamhwajeonnori” written by Jin Seong-gi, a senior scholar. This was the biggest flower-viewing in Jeju during the Joseon Dynasty. most of the other regions were a female or ruling class-oriented play. On the other hand the JeongsoamHwajeonNori was hosted by the government and enjoyed by people of all ages and both sexes. Jeongsoam is located near Yeongjusan and Baekyak-ioreum, as well as recently established Seongeup Reservoir. If these resources are combined into one, there is a high possibility that they will be in the spotlight as a history, culture, tourism, and ecological belt in the future. Therefore, it is expected that JeongsoamHwajeonNori will bring such dreams and visions.
